In our continuing quest to find newspapers and magazines from 1985 that covered the Bradford City Fire, we have purchased this edition of ‘World Soccer International Magazine’ from June 1985. The articles within the publication don’t cover much new ground and seem to be a collection of previously published articles. There is, however, a rather touching photograph of Everton and Manchester United fans holding up a banner at their FA Cup game in 1985.
One quote from the publication really stood out to us. This was from david DeLacey in The Guardian who is quoted as saying/writing: “Soccer attracts more hackneyed hyperbole than most sports. We talk about “tragedy” when we mean “disappointment” and “disaster” when we mean “defeat”. When real tragedy occurs, we tend to be stuck for the right words.
Rather than just repeat everything that is in the publication we have attached a PDF that you can open and view by World Soccer Bradford Fire
